Ancient Indian Construction Techniques and Modern Science - Renowned architect Mr. Amogh Gupta, the Chief Guest, highlighted the scientific importance of ancient Indian construction methods, emphasizing their foundation in Indian cultural heritage.
Practical Construction Solutions from Experience - Mr. Hemant Mehta, a senior structural engineer with over 55 years of experience, delivered valuable advice on construction best practices. He explained simple yet vital points such as the correct cement-to-water ratio, which is essential for building long-lasting structures.
Inauguration of NABL-Accredited Testing Laboratory at SAIT
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the newly established NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited laboratory at SAIT. This lab aims to uphold high scientific standards and improve the accuracy of testing construction materials. Dr. Vijay Rode, also a former Director of SGSITS, urged professionals to take post-construction cracks seriously. He recounted rehabilitation successes at Indore Housing Board flats, Maheshwar overhead tank, Dhar Mandi shops, St. Raphael’s School, and Dewas overhead tank.
Additional experts, including Engineer Soumya Upadhyay, Mr. Ajay Kumar Harit (Founder of Ayaka Waterproofers), and Mr. Vivek Mishra (Manager at Pidilite) shared valuable insights on construction safety, waterproofing, and specialized products.
